Shattering the Myth

“You can’t do that,” the scientist blurted out as he paced around the table. “You have no idea what it is you’re dealing with and if you go and do something wrong…”
“Dr. McKay, I am a medical researcher who specializes in diseases. I think I can handle a simple culture.”
“I get that, Dr. Ashford. But you haven’t dealt with the things I have. This… this could be more than just a culture.”
“I know,” she said, turning her back to him. “Now, if you’ll kindly let me go back to my work…”
He bacame more aggitated. As he headed out the door, he said, “Fine. Don’t believe me. You people… one of these days you’ll learn. The question is whether or not you’ll kill us all in the process.” With that, he was gone.
Dr. McKenna Ashford sighed and shook her head. “Well, there goes that ‘polite Canadian’ myth… right out the damn window,” she said with another sigh as she returned to her work.
