A Simple Answer

She sat beside him on the couch with her head on his shoulder, rather pleased with everything life had to offer at the moment.
“Well…” he prompted, unable to hide his impatience.
“It’s a big question, Jack.”
“Duh!”
“There is so much to consider. Georgie… my life… my grandchildren… the Game… my son… Oh wait! I mentioned him.”
Jack sighed. “I get it! And I’m my own grandpa, yadda yadda yadda. I’m over it –so are you gonna give me an answer or not?”
“Yes.”
“Well, what is it? For cryin’ out loud, Gracie!”
“Yes.”
Getting more exasperated, he sat up on the couch. “Will you just answer me already?”
“I have… twice. You’re in full, stubborn O’Neill mode and not paying attention.”
“You’re saying ‘yes’?”
“Yes.”
“Yeah?”
“Yes, Jack,” she said, before kissing him soundly. “The answer is yes.”
