Summary: This story is told from the POV of Kennedy and written in first person. It basically describes her interpretation of what will happen now that Sunnydale is gone.

I watched her as she worked her magic. Her ‘mojo’, as she laughingly called it. I could feel the power coursing through me as she did. I promised her I would be ‘all about the stabbing’ if she turned pale and veiny. And I would have. Thank the goddess it wasn’t necessary.
What was necessary?
Watching her. Watching the beauty that was Willow Rosenberg as she transformed not only me and the other thousands of potential slayers, but as she transformed herself. At the time, there was nothing I could say, nothing I could do but watch in awe. She was beautiful… ethereal… Finally, I told her, she was a goddess.
And she belonged to me just as much as I did to her.
I may have pushed myself into her life. It’s funny because I basically push my way into everything. I know what I want and I go after it, without giving much thought or care to whoever gets in my way.
Maybe that’s why I can identify with Faith more than Buffy. Though given that I too am now a Slayer, I’m more given to being content within myself.
I never doubted that I would survive the war with the First. I never doubted that Willow would either. It was simply something I knew deep within me. We were both survivors and no Bringers, Ubervamps, or non-corporeal baddies were going to stop us from being together.
Does my confidence offend people? Sure! Do I particularly care? No!
It’s who I am. That confidence has seen me through hard times in the past, and I’m sure it will see me through many more.
But now…
The First is defeated and Sunnydale is gone, the future stretches before me… us… Willow and I. There’s still evil to fight and vampires to slay. As Giles pointed out, there is more than one Hellmouth in the world. I want to fight. I want to kick some evil ass. I want to make a difference. I’m going to make a difference.
Right now though, everyone is still pretty much in limbo. Those who were injured are slowly healing. We almost lost Principal Wood. Guess he really isn’t much of a principal anymore, but old habits die hard. And like those habits, this principal is hard to kill.
Speaking of… No one really talks about it. But Anya… There isn’t anyone around now to fill those moments of awkward silence with sarcastic barbs that actually echoed truths. There’s no one who will come right out and say what we’re all thinking. She annoyed me at times, could get on my nerves worse than Andrew. But I miss her. She fought bravely and died bravely.
So did a lot of the girls… girls who had just reached their potential and had it stolen away from them by evil.
This brings me back to my mission. Once the shock and turmoil have settled, I’m going to talk to Willow. There are Hellmouths to close and evil to fight, and I need her by my side. Sunnydale’s demise wasn’t an ending, it was a beginning.
And I for one am looking forward to what the future brings.
The End
